Product Design & Engineering Assistant

About the Role We are seeking a Product Design & Engineering Assistant to support our technical team in the design, development, and prototyping of our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in product engineering, hands-on work with machinery, and a passion for innovation. You will work closely with our Junior Technical Officer to bring product concepts to life — from technical drawings and 3D modeling to prototyping and testing. Key Responsibilities • Assist the Junior Technical Officer in all stages of product design and development. • Operate and maintain machinery and tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and related prototyping equipment. Prepare and refine technical drawings, CAD models, and production documentation. • Participate in product prototyping, assembly, and testing. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product functionality and manufacturability. • Support the preparation of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and other engineering documentation. • Ensure compliance with internal quality and safety standards. • Contribute ideas and technical solutions during the design and engineering phases. Preferred (but not required) • Prior experience with prototype development, mechanical assembly, or manufacturing processes. • Basic understanding of electronics or materials engineering. • Knowledge of laser engraving, SLA/FDM 3D printing, or CNC milling techniques. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Timely completion of technical drawings and design tasks • Accuracy and quality of CAD files and documentation • Number of prototypes successfully produced and tested • Equipment uptime and proper maintenance of 3D printers and laser tools • Adherence to project deadlines and development schedules • Collaboration and communication with the Junior Technical Officer and other team members • Contribution of ideas for design or process improvements • Compliance with safety and quality standards • Reduction in rework or design errors • Responsiveness to technical support requests and troubleshooting What We Offer: • Competitive salary and benefits package. • Dynamic and innovative work environment. • Opportunities for professional growth and development
