The Product Engineer will partner with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Customer Support and R&D to sustain and improve delivered products, ensuring our customers are getting the best consumables on the market.ResponsibilitiesCharacterize product health and develop key metrics to drive efficiency and robustness improvements in manufacturingParticipate in advanced analytics for process and subsequent product improvement and customer experienceCollaborate with Development, Process Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and other departments as needed to address issues with manufacturing yield and qualityDevelop and implement new processes and tools to provide product manufacturing data to the companyProvide expertise for product manufacture and serve as the point of contact for manufacturing and product health issuesProvide technical input on information system architectureAssist in defining technical requirements for new productsSupport continuous improvement and site transfer project activitiesAll listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional tasks and responsibilities.Preferred RequirementsExtremely good data analysis skills and a logical approach to problem solvingAbility to understand data in whatever format it’s presented, and effectively use it to communicate a story and drive actionStrong programming skills (SQL, R (dplyr, dbplyr, tidyverse) preferred) and statistical knowledge (DOEs, statistical analysis, t-tests, ANOVA, sample size calculation etc.)Experienced in visualization tools e.g. Tableau, ggplot2 package and shinyExpert user of Excel, proficient in Word, Outlook, PowerPointFamiliarity with Statistical Process Control and DOE techniquesBig data experience (including HPC, distributed computing, AWS Redshift) is a plusExperience with product development or assay development is a plus.Experience with either of the following technologies is a plus: Microarrays or gene sequencingExperience in one or more of the following fields is a plus: Oligo Manufacturing, Reagent Formulation, MEMS/Semiconductor Fabrication, or other high-tech, high-volume consumables manufacturingCompetenciesDemonstrated ability to work with ambiguous requirements, adapt quickly, and learnDetail-oriented, proactive, works independently, works well with othersHigh degree of initiative and ownership, as well as a proven history of delivering results while working with several different departments in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAll listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional tasks and responsibilities.Preferred Experience/EducationBS/MS/PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnical Engineering, or related fieldOr BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field with strong knowledge of biology and chemistryWe are a company deeply rooted in belonging, promoting an inclusive environment where employees feel valued and empowered to contribute to our mission.
