As part of Wego’s AI-first approach, the team leverages machine learning, automation and experimentation to design smarter, scalable products that power the next generation of travel innovation.The Role:We are seeking a highly analytical Product Manager – AI & ML to drive the development of quantitative models and machine learning systems at the intersection of fintech, travel and risk management. The successful candidate will own the product strategy, roadmap and execution for systems that price risk, detect anomalies and deliver customer-facing financial products such as “Cancel for Any Reason” protection, price freezes and guarantees.This role blends quantitative rigor with strategic product thinking, partnering with data scientists, engineers, actuaries and commercial stakeholders to apply systematic modeling and risk frameworks to high-frequency, high-scale travel commerce.What you will be working on:Define and communicate a clear product vision focused on how AI and ML can solve key business and user needsDevelop and manage product strategies, roadmaps and project schedules for AI-driven initiativesConduct market and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities for AI applicationsLead cross-functional teams including data scientists, ML engineers, designers and business leaders to ensure successful product executionDefine and monitor key success metrics covering both business outcomes and model performanceDrive go-to-market strategies, launch plans and product marketing for AI features and solutionsKey Initiatives for the Role:ML Cache Infrastructure: Define and oversee caching strategies using ML models for low-latency, high-volume decisioningQuantitative Pricing Models: Build ML-driven pricing systems to optimize margins, balance risk and enhance competitivenessSystematic Arbitrage: Develop arbitrage frameworks across suppliers, markets and products to capture pricing inefficienciesRisk and Actuarial Modeling: Partner with actuaries to design risk models for protection products such as cancel-for-any-reason or trip protectionOptions-like Travel Products: Lead the development of derivative-like travel products including price freezes and guarantees, ensuring sound pricing and risk-hedging modelsFraud and Anomaly Detection: Own the roadmap for ML-based fraud detection across payments, cancellations and bookingsCross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, finance, legal and commercial teams to deploy models safely and effectivelyMeasurement and Optimization: Define KPIs and continuously test, refine and optimize models for accuracy, profitability and customer impactSkills and experience:5–8 years of experience in quantitative or strategy roles, ideally in hedge funds, fintech, travel or risk-driven businessesStrong understanding of machine learning, statistics, time-series modeling and optimization frameworksHands-on experience in financial modeling, risk pricing or systematic trading strategiesKnowledge of actuarial risk, fraud detection and derivative-style consumer products is a plusAbility to translate quantitative research into commercially viable productsProven track record of launching complex technical products with cross-functional teamsDetail-oriented, systematic thinker comfortable working in high-velocity environmentsWhy Join Us:Drive quant-level innovation in one of the world’s largest consumer categories: online travelBuild risk and pricing infrastructure that directly impacts millions of travelersWork with world-class engineers, data scientists and actuaries to bring financial-grade discipline to travel commerceShape a new generation of fintech-like travel products that redefine customer trust and choice
