Product Manager – Open-Source Medicine Supply Chain Software

Help shape software that gets medicines to 400 million people around the worldWe're the mSupply Foundation. Somehow we’ve ended up being the stewards of a suite of software products that is by far the most widely used for medicine supply chain management in 42 countries in the low/middle income world.We’re on the journey of building a new open source version of our software. It’s amazing how far we’ve got. It’s amazing how far we have to go. We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead that vision. This is your chance to shape the direction of critical infrastructure that helps get medicines to people who need them. You'll work with talented developers, experienced field teams across multiple countries, and international health partners -  all united by the mission of ensuring everyone has access to the medicines they need.The Role:You'll lead product direction and strategy for our open-source platform. This means:Product Leadership & StrategyOwn the product vision and roadmap, balancing best practice with the real-world needs of health systems in low/middle-income countriesMake strategic prioritization decisions that incorporate developer capacity, field team feedback, government requirements, and donor expectations.Think deeply about what "good" looks like for our users (who work in challenging contexts with patchy internet and limited resources) and ensure our product enables thatStakeholder RelationshipsWork closely with our project managers who represent our end users and government partners across different countries. They're your window into what's actually needed in the fieldFacilitate conversations between development teams and stakeholders to translate real-world problems into solutionsEngage with stakeholders at all levels to understand emerging needs and opportunitiesGather and synthesize user research and translate it into clear product requirementsMentoring & Team DevelopmentLead and mentor our existing Product Manager (who has strong domain knowledge) in product practices Foster a collaborative product culture that includes technical teams and field teamsHelp both teams understand each other's constraints so they work together effectively and healthilyDeliver SoftwareWork with our development team leads to scope work, manage technical trade-offs, and deliver on commitmentsEnsure features are well-designed, tested, and solve the problems they're meant toMonitor user adoption and impact in the fieldWho We're Looking ForExperience & Track RecordProven experience as a Product Owner or a similar product leadership role, ideally in a complex, multi-stakeholder environmentDemonstrated ability to lead product strategy and make tough prioritisation callsExperience mentoring other product or business professionalsTrack record of shipping products that actually solved real problems for real usersMindset & SkillsYou're genuinely motivated by our mission – helping ensure access to medicines in low/middle-income countries. You have strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical settings. You explain tradeoffs clearly to developers, field teams, and partners.You ask the questions our users would ask, and stay focused on solving their problems, not just shipping features.You’re comfortable with change. Priorities do shift and you need to assess and adjust.You have a collaborative leadership style, bringing people along with you..You’re pragmatic. You know when to aim for perfection and when to ship something good enough.Product ExpertiseExperience gathering and synthesizing user researchExperience working with distributed teams or in remote-first environmentsUnderstanding of the technical landscape: you don't need to code, but you need to understand systems architecture, API design, and the constraints developers work withinNice to HaveExperience in healthcare, public health, or international developmentExperience working across multiple languages or cultural contextsExperience with supply chain, logistics, or operations softwareExperience working with government or non-profit stakeholdersAbout Us:We're a small, tight-knit team united by purpose.
