The company operates with a commitment to transparency, accessibility, and offering unparalleled value to its clients.Role DescriptionWe're looking for someone who can own our insurance operations and build the tools and systems that make them run smoothly.This is a hybrid role. You'll manage claims workflows, coordinate with insurers, and oversee customer processes, deal with payment bugs but you'll also get your hands dirty building automations, writing queries, and working directly with our engineering team to fix problems.If you're someone who sees a broken process and immediately thinks "I could build something to fix that", this role is for you.Operations & Workflow ManagementOwn the end-to-end claims process between Oyen and our insurance partnersManage customer onboarding and renewal workflowsCoordinate with our support team to ensure consistent executionWork directly with insurers to resolve issues and improve processesBuild & AutomateBuild and maintain internal tools using Retool, spreadsheets, or automation platformsWrite SQL queries to extract data, troubleshoot issues, and support operationsIdentify manual processes that should be automated then automate themCreate dashboards and reports that help the team see what's working and what's notProduct & Engineering CoordinationWork with our freelance engineers to prioritise and resolve bugsTranslate operational pain points into clear technical requirementsTest and validate fixes before rolloutBe the bridge between "this is broken" and "here's what we need built"Process ImprovementSimplify and document SOPsTrack operational metrics and flag issues earlyContinuously look for ways to make things faster, more accurate, and less manualMust have:Comfortable with SQL (PostgreSQL): you can write queriesExperience building tools or automations (Retool, Zapier, Make, scripts, etc.)Can translate business problems into technical requirementsOrganised, detail-oriented, and good at following throughClear communicator: with the team, with engineers, with external partnersNice to have:Experience in insurance, fintech, or operations-heavy businessesFamiliarity with claims or customer service processesExperience working with remote or offshore teamsThe kind of person who thrives here:You know how to think about whether a problem/situation requires building something or can be easily patched with a workflow or should continue to be done manuallyYou're comfortable with ambiguity and figuring things outYou take ownership: if something's broken, you fix it or find someone who canYou can work with different types of people without creating friction
