Job Title: Product Operations Specialist - Flights Team Location: AmsterdamTeam DescriptionThe Product Operations team in Flights play a pivotal role in ensuring that all product development is created and implemented with an operational mindset, ensuring that requirements are derived between product and operations at the earliest possible stage to avoid any blockers.Flights is a rapidly growing vertical in Booking.com and is a deeply complex area and industry, deviating from all known processes within our wider product offering. We also work heavily with external suppliers who own a large majority of our operational functions, creating fragmented views and an ease of identifying impact from product development. This is why it is vital to have a team that holds knowledge of both the product craft and relevant operational areas which allow them to maneuver through cross functional set ups with ease.To ensure we can support the rapid growth with operational excellence, Product Operations Specialists will be assigned to multiple teams, or a whole track, and are expected to be the main point of contact between Product and Operations, ensuring they act as the beating heart and bridge between both parties, and that information is cascaded in a timely manner to prevent issues or blockers.Role OverviewThe Product Operations Specialist (POS):Supports and participates in the day-to-day product operations of the relevant team or stakeholder.Assist by conducting research, managing data, maintaining documentation, and establishing new support processes as needs arise. Facilitates communication and enablement in product development and supports the delivery of a single product. Becomes the central point of contact for a dedicated product team/track to identify potential operational impact early on and act accordingly.Key Responsibilities and DutiesProduct Operations are the front line of support between Product and all relevant operational teams. Their goal is to enhance product development by identifying any operational impact as early as possible and ensuring this is raised with relevant stakeholders to focus on mitigation.Knowledge: Has experience and/or proven understanding of CS and Financial/Payment operational areas and is able to identify stakeholder needs through product discovery and development Product Delivery: Has thorough experience and understanding of the end to end product craft, life cycle and rituals such as planning, discovery and roadmap creation/maintenance Product Technical Fluency: Has experience and understanding of products on a deep technical level to be able to effectively troubleshoot/validate bugs and be able to identify downstream effects of tech changes on operations Process Creation: Can create and optimise short/mid/long term processes to support product development Data Fluency: Can independently create, run and amend queries to provide valuable quantitative insights from operational areas, such as customer service data, to drive product requirements Customer insights: Can translate both qualitative and quantitative customer needs into impactful user stories, journeys, product requirements or bug fixesDocumentation: Has exceptional documentation skills and can translate complex information between product and operational teams Bug support: Experience in owning bug processes including testing, validations, reporting, prioritisations for fixing and engaging with all relevant stakeholders Stakeholder Management: Can liaise with stakeholders across an array of functions between Product, Engineering, Data, Legal, CS & Finance, and others, both internally and with external suppliers Organisational skills: Possesses meticulous organizational skills for maintaining a 360-degree view of all supported areas to allow a timely communication of updates and the effective management of change as new products and processes are introduced.Qualifications, Skills, And RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degreeExperience: 3+ years of relevant job experienceSkills/requirements:Experience in product operations (or similar) roles, analyzing operational issues and coordinating across multiple stakeholders to drive process improvementsExperience within a customer service or payments related type of role Ability to structure, distill, and clearly document complex operations processes to drive clarity for the business and make actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive mannerAbility to work independently with autonomy of workload Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsRequires excellent organizational skills and a sharp focus on detailProficient data skills and is able to run and refine existing queries independently to obtain relevant data in, but not exclusive to, MySQL, BDX and HadoopBenefits & Perks: Global Impact, Personal Relevance: Booking.com’s total rewards philosophy is not only about compensation but also about benefits.
