DramaBox is seeking a Production Counsel with 3–5 years of entertainment law experience to support fast-paced, scripted, mobile- and digital-first productions across the full production lifecycle. In this role, you’ll handle both Above-the-Line and Below-the-Line matters while working closely with Production, Development, Finance, and Business Affairs to keep high-volume short-form productions moving efficiently and responsibly. This position is part of DramaBox’s growing U.S. Business & Legal Affairs team and collaborates with cross-functional partners throughout the production process.This role includes drafting and negotiating talent, crew, and vendor agreements; advising on guild and labor issues; reviewing releases, clearances, and production risk; and providing on-set or near-set guidance on issue spotting, compliance, and real-time production questions. You’ll partner closely with production leadership and support decision-making in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements for talent, crew, vendors, and other production partners.• Advise on guild, union, and labor matters related to scripted short-form productions.• Review and support releases, clearances, rights issues, and production-risk assessments.• Provide on-set or near-set guidance on issue spotting, compliance, and real-time production questions.• Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Development, Business Affairs, and Finance to maintain production momentum while managing legal and operational risk.• Interface with external partners, including talent representatives, vendors, and outside counsel, as needed.Qualifications• JD required; California Bar preferred.• 3–5 years of legal experience in scripted, digital, or other production environments.• Familiarity with short-form scripted, digital-first, or vertical-format production is a plus, but not required.• Strong drafting, negotiation, and issue-spotting skills.• Experience with releases, clearances, or rights assessments is helpful.• Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive production matters confidentially.• Candidates from both traditional film/television and emerging content-production backgrounds are encouraged to apply.About DramaBoxDramaBox is a global leader in vertical drama production, pioneering mobile-first storytelling for global audiences.
