Production Manager - Engineering and Robotics

Job Description

We are a leading engineering and robotics international company; our Swiss production facility plays a critical role in delivering high-quality products to global customers across a variety of industrial sectors.The Production Manager will be responsible for leading, managing, and continuously improving our manufacturing operations consisting of approximately 50–60 employees.This role carries full operational, financial, and strategic responsibility for the production facility.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, excellent people management skills, and a proven track record in operational excellence within an industrial or automation environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day operations of the production facility to ensure efficient, high-quality, and on-time manufacturing output.Lead, motivate, and develop production teams, including supervisors, technicians, and support staff.Define and implement production strategies aligned with company goals and growth plans.Manage the facility’s operating budget, cost structure, and capital expenditures to ensure financial efficiency and performance.Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity, Lean manufacturing, quality, and workplace safety.Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales to ensure product and delivery requirements are met.Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to evaluate performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.Act as a key contributor in long-term capacity planning, resource allocation, and technology investment decisions.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and innovation.Business fluent German and English.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field; MBA or advanced business qualification is a plus.Minimum 7–10 years of production or operations management experience in manufacturing, automation, or industrial engineering environments.Proven leadership experience managing teams of 40+ personnel in a production setting.Strong knowledge of Lean / continuous improvement methodologies.Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving cost improvements.Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.Fluency in German and English; additional languages are an asset.
