Our core principle governs everything we do: Don't Build, Ship, or Sell a Defect.Position Summary: The Production Manager is the ultimate owner of the "Don't BUILD a Defect" principle across all manufacturing shops. You are responsible for creating a culture where our team's safety is the highest value, and where this safe, stable environment enables the "Don't Build, Ship, or Sell a Defect" principle to thrive in Body, Paint, and General Assembly shops. You will translate the plant's strategic objectives into actionable plans and results on the shop floor, ensuring all operational pillars are met.Key Responsibilities:Safety (Our Foundation):Champion an interdependent safety culture where every team member is empowered to stop any unsafe process or condition.Integrate safety and quality in daily operations, demonstrating that standardized work for safety prevents variation that leads to defects.People (Our assets):Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing production management team.Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous learning.Develop leaders who model that the safety of their team is their first responsibility.Quality (Our Promise):Ultimate owner of "Don't BUILD a Defect" across all production shops, ensuring this principle is lived daily in Body, Paint, and GA.Ensure "Don't SHIP a Defect" by validating that final vehicle quality meets standards before release to logistics.Guarantee "Don't SELL a Defect" by supporting in preventing any non-conforming vehicle from reaching customers.Foster an environment where the Andon cord is pulled for both safety and quality concerns without fear.Partner with the Quality team on problem-solving to eliminate root causes.Productivity:Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to meet volume and delivery targets, ensuring volume never overrides quality.Monitor and drive key performance indicators (OEE, throughput, downtime) to maximize operational efficiency.Collaborate closely with the Lean System, IE & Business Planning team to implement lean principles and eliminate waste.Cost:Manage the production budget, controlling costs for labor, materials, and consumables.Identify and lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve productivity, and achieve cost objectives.Environment:Support the Safety & Environmental team in ensuring environmental compliance within production areas, particularly in managing waste streams from the Paint and Assembly shops.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive, or related field).Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior production leadership role (Manager or Superintendent level).Must have direct experience in a CKD vehicle assembly environment.Proven experience managing multiple production departments (Body, Paint, GA) is highly preferred.Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and a proven track record of driving continuous improvement.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable.Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
