Production Manager – MROPosition SummaryThe Production Manager – MRO is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all maintenance and production activities on the shop floor to ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul work. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, customer commitments, and organizational standards while driving productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Operations & Production ManagementLead, manage, and oversee daily aircraft maintenance and shop floor activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and turnaround times (TAT).Allocate manpower, equipment, and tooling resources effectively to maximize productivity.Ensure compliance with OEM manuals, regulatory authority guidelines(DGCA/EASA/FAA/Defense standards), and quality systems.Monitor and control workflow to prevent delays, reduce rework, and meet delivery deadlines.Coordinate with planning, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.People & LeadershipSupervise, train, and mentor engineers, technicians, and shop supervisors.Ensure a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.Lead daily production meetings, communicating priorities and resolving bottlenecks.Motivate teams to meet performance and safety standards.Compliance & SafetyEnsure strict adherence to safety procedures, airworthiness requirements, and environmental standards.Implement and monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, customer contracts, and company policies.Support internal and external audits by regulatory authorities and customers.Ensure continuous improvementCost & Resource ManagementControl production costs by efficient use of manpower, materials, and equipment.Track KPIs related to turnaround time, cost per man-hour, and rework rates.Provide regular performance reports to senior management.Continuous ImprovementDrive Lean, Six Sigma, and other productivity improvement initiatives.Identify and implement process improvements to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.Introduce best practices in scheduling, maintenance execution, and resource utilization.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).10–15 years of experience in aircraft MRO/Airline/Defense operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory/managerial role OR An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with 10 years certifying experienceStrong knowledge of aircraft maintenance processes, tools, and regulatory requirements (DGCA/FAA/EASA/Defense).Proven track record of managing production teams in an MRO/Airline/Defence environment.Microsoft OfficeSkills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.High focus on safety, quality, and compliance.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.Proficiency in ERP/MIS systems related to MRO operations.
