About The RoleWe are looking for a Production Team Leader to join our team on the night shift based in Airport Oaks. This role comes with a variety of responsibilities including production planning, quality and compliance, health and safety and team management. The Production Team leader will work closely with the night shift team members and the other Team leaders and will be looking after a small team. Your duties will include:Leading the shift to achieve production targets and goalsEnsuring adequate resources are available for effective execution of the production planCompleting reportingActively working with the Quality and Compliance team to ensure the quality of the product is up to our usual high standardsEnsure Health and Safety procedures are followed and investigate any incidentsConducting and recording regular safety toolbox talksEnsuring a wide range of lean manufacturing approaches are implementedTraining staff (new staff members and ongoing training for existing team members)Coaching and developing the team membersAssisting the team to operate production machinery when requiredThe hours are 11:00PM - 07:00AM Sunday to Thursday - you will finish on a Friday morning and will have until Sunday night off as your weekend. This role is on a temp - perm basis and we are looking for somebody who wants to join the team on a long-term basis and is interested in progressing within the company. Please note that although this is a Supervisor role, there will be times when you will need to help the team in factory and it will become a physical role and will involve you being on your feet all day, therefore it is essential that you are physically able.Skills & ExperienceDue to the nature of the role, to be successful in this role you will need:A strong background in a manufacturing or production workplace as a Team Leader or SupervisorExperience working with plastics will be an advantage (ideally extrusion)Effective communication skills and ability to be a decision-makerGood leadership and people management skillsStrong IT skills - you will be working on computers dailyExcellent understanding of Health & Safety proceduresUnderstanding of accounting principles and employment legislationSelf-motivated and proactiveTo be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol testA great attitude and willingness to learnAbout the CompanyWe are a global manufacturer of flexible packaging for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical and personal care industries.
