We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position OverviewProvides experienced administrative support to the assigned department. Functions under the policies and procedures of the department and Hospital.ExperienceA minimum of 5 years secretarial experience, of which 2 years are at a senior level. General knowledge of the administrative practice and procedures.Experience with ESP staff scheduling system and experience with computerized payroll system.Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)Grade 12.Completion of recognized secretarial or business office training program and/or community college program.Completion of a medical terminology course.Certification/Licensure/RegistrationNot ApplicableQualifications And SkillsMust have knowledge of, and be proficient with, a variety of software programs.Familiar with the CUPE and MNU collective agreements.Excellent organizational skills, flexibility and independence in completing work assignments and complex tasks.Proficiency in taking, transcribing, and editing of minutes, which may require attendance at evening meetings.Minimum typing speed 65 wpm.Work independently with limited direction.Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all staff, outside agencies and general public.Ability to prioritize work and meet scheduling deadlines.Physical RequirementsMay be required to work extended hours.May involve exposure to disease, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, etc.May encounter aggressive and/or agitated individuals.This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.
