Program Manager- Data Governance and MDM

Role Overview:Lead the enterprise Data Governance and MDM Program for a major Financial Services organization, ensuring regulatory compliance, data quality, and a culture of stewardship. Drive strategy, align stakeholders, and oversee framework implementation from policy to metadata management.Key Responsibilities:Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute data governance strategy; report to CXO stakeholders; manage risk and ROI.Framework Implementation: Establish policies, roles, standards, and processes; deploy data cataloging, metadata, and lineage tools.Project Management: Plan, prioritize, track progress, and report status; identify and mitigate risks; manage resources.Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate Data Governance Council; collaborate with business, IT, compliance, and auditors.Compliance & Risk: Ensure adherence to regulations (GDPR, CCPA, BCBS 239, AML/KYC); monitor data security and sharing.Metrics & Reporting: Define KPIs; deliver regular program updates, audit reports, and performance analyses.Team Leadership: Mentor data stewards and analysts; promote best practices and governance awareness.Technical Expertise:Data pipelines, storage, quality, and security principlesETL/ELT tools, MDM, data warehousing, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)Governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation)Qualifications:Bachelor’s (CS, Data Management, Business); MBA or equivalent preferred10+ years in program management; 6+ years in data governance or data management with MDM in the banking or financial services sector.Strong knowledge of governance frameworks and Financial Services compliancePMP/Prince2, DGSP/CDMP certifications a plusCore Competencies:Strategic thinker, excellent communicator, strong analytical skills, and adept at managing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
