Job DescriptionIn accordance with the Agency’s mission statement, policies and procedures, professional Code of Ethics, State of Michigan licensing, contracts, funding, and COA standards; the Program Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and insight to supervisory and support staff in foster care, adoption, and treatment.TASKS OF THE POSITION Ensure the team is producing at an optimal level to meet KPI expectations.Prepares for and participates in individual supervision and other agency meetings.Represents the agency in the community and works in collaboration with others to secure needed resources.Provides leadership for the planning, implementation, and management of foster care programs.Manages and is accountable for program budgets and the cost-effective operations of assigned areas.Manages the effective utilization and development of staff to enhance service delivery.Develops and implements continuous quality improvement methods, including staff retention.Provides direct supervision and evaluates the performance of assigned staff.Functions in a supportive and leadership role for foster parents.Participates in continuous quality improvement.Stays informed of current practice developments within the profession.Utilizes supervision, educational, and training opportunities to further professional development.Plans and organizes work to meet all job requirements according to agency and COA standards, licensing, and funding requirements.Performs all other duties as required or requested by the agency.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of social work, and social service administration.Skilled in supervisory methods and techniques, including leadership and motivating employees.Knowledge of DHS and CMS policies as it relates to foster care.Knowledge of clinical theories, therapeutic interventions, psychotropic medications, clinical assessment skills, and diagnosing.Skilled in evaluating the effectiveness of administrative and operational programs and in implementing changes to provide for more effective and efficient operations.Ability to work independently in the field and to use team resources/supervision to enhance performance.Ability to utilize trauma informed care to assess youth mental health symptoms and service needs.Ability to be flexible in prioritizing in a changing system.Demonstrated personal integrity and professional demeanor in accordance with the ethics of the agency and profession.Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills to compose and/or edit written materials.Knowledge of current practice developments within the profession and uses educational and training opportunities to ensure continual professional competence.Ability to work cooperatively and in collaboration to establish rapport with Vista Maria staff and representatives of other agencies, foster care families, planning family and schools.Demonstrated skills in organization, priority/time management, problem solving, and conflict resolution.Demonstrated ability to interact positively in a culturally diverse environment and to deal effectively with various levels of Vista Maria personnel, outside customers, and community groups.Demonstrated computer literacy skills at least in Word programs.SMART GOALS Implements strategies to ensure compliance with all Key Performance Indicators (11 categories) outlined by MDHHS. Achieves 95% or above in 7 categories: 90% or above in 1 category, 85% or above in 3 categories. Work in conjunction with the Director of Foster Care & Adoptions to ensure annual Foster Care plan and budget are in accordance with agency expectations. Facilitate team meetings necessary for program success. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYDirectly supervises Supervisors, Program Coordinator and Foster Care Therapist. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, performance management, discipline, training, coaching and supervision.Minimum RequiredQUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION / TRAINING)Required:Master’s Degree (appropriate human services major) from an accredited school.Three (3) years progressive supervisory/administrative experience working with children, youth, and families.Valid Michigan driver’s license without relevant restrictions.Preferred:CWTI Trained.Limited or full clinical license in social work (LMSW), counseling (LPC), or psychology (LLP).Company DescriptionWe foster restorative relationships and deliver innovative care, treatment, and education so that vulnerable youth and families believe in their worth, heal and build the skills for success.We foster restorative relationships and deliver innovative care, treatment, and education so that vulnerable youth and families believe in their worth, heal and build the skills for success.
