Who will you be working with?You’ll be working with a myriad of stakeholders, both internal and external. You will work directly with different teams located at our offices, remote, and at customer locations. You’ll develop a thorough understanding of our customer’s organizations, needs, and priorities serving as the primary customer contact and the face of the Surface Transportation business within Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence organization. Internally, your work will require you to branch out from the PMO group and work with a wide variety of engineering teams as you tactfully negotiate, procure and plan resources while balancing competing priorities and needs of the larger organization.How will you make a difference? As a member of the Surface Transportation group, you will be responsible for leading all phases of the project life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout). Their primary objective will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions. The individual will lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals.What do we want to know about you? You must have:Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, or closely related discipline. In absence of a degree, we will consider relevant experience and/or certifications.Minimum of 5 years of managing projects across matrixed organizations.Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsProven analytical, technical, strategic and problem-solving skillsAdvanced MS Office Suite and MS Project skillsDemonstrated financial management skills including: development and control of program budgets, schedules, risk management, EAC's and the ability to recognize and capture program changesExperience identifying project problems and recommending solutions Able and willing to travel up to 25% of the timeWe would love it if you had:Experience in the Rail Industry and or FRA knowledgeExperience with Agile Project ManagementAbility to work independently and multitaskExperience with creating and monitoring staffing metricsPMP certificationExperience in program stand upExperience working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT)What will your typical day look like? Cultivating customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer communityDeveloping new business opportunities through long term strategic planning, capture planning, and development of proposals and business plansEstablishing a program organization that effectively addresses customer requirements and incorporates the necessary internal and external sub-organizationsLeading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectivesMeasuring and reporting program performanceDelivering presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholdersParticipating in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditionsEstablishing design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and testCreation, review and finalization of the program Statement of WorkIdentification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirementsEstablishment and management of the program and subordinate baselinesDevelopment and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost & schedule control methodologies and toolsIdentifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce planningManaging suppliers to meet program objectivesEnsuring adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standardsEnsuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope, and manages change through control board activitiesDevelopment and adherence to master plans and schedulesConducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realizationWhat about the physical demands of the job?
