Working closely with the Head of Programme, you will provide academic leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, and inspire staff and students alike.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality, career-focused education. A teaching contribution is expected as part of the role. Campus presence is required during key delivery periods, with flexibility in agreeing a working pattern.Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership & Quality AssuranceOversee day-to-day programme delivery to ensure an excellent student experienceMaintain the currency and relevance of programmes, leading on curriculum enhancement in line with RCL’s teaching and learning methodologyManage all quality assurance processes, including internal and standard verification, assessment monitoring, and adherence to partner requirementsReview student performance data and contribute to programme reviews and planningEnsure VLE content meets institutional and partner standardsProvide leadership, mentorship, and performance support to academic teamsSupport staff and student inductions and lead curriculum development initiativesParticipate in academic panels, assessment boards, misconduct reviews, and quality processesSupport effective assessment management in collaboration with registry and administrative teamsEngage in scholarly activity related to your discipline or programme areaTeaching, Learning & AssessmentDeliver high-quality teaching and learning experiencesSupport students requiring additional academic assistance, referring them appropriatelyEnsure timely, constructive feedback on assessmentsPromote assessment literacy and uphold academic integrityOversee Personal Academic Tutoring to ensure students receive robust academic supportPerson SpecificationExperience (Essential)Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering or managing Pearson Higher National or similar vocational programmesStrong teaching and curriculum development background within Business or related fieldsExperience working with partner institutions or awarding bodiesStrong understanding of Pearson assessment, verification, and external examining processesDirect experience liaising with Pearson Standard VerifiersSkills & AbilitiesExcellent leadership and team-development skillsStrong organisational and administrative capabilityConfident with digital learning platforms (e.g. Canvas, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint)Effective communication and stakeholder engagementAbility to work flexibly across multiple campusesDesirablePhD or Senior Fellowship of the HEA (SFHEA)Experience embedding employability within vocational curriculumEngagement with academic/professional networksKnowledge of digital learning innovations and blended deliveryCompliance StatementSuccessful applicants will be required to complete pre-employment checks, including a criminal records check, two references, ID and Right to Work verification, and education confirmation.
