TITLE: Project Assistant (CPiE)TEAM/PROGRAMME: CPiE LOCATION: SittweNumber of Position: 1GRADE: NAT 5 CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed TermChild Safeguarding:Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.ROLE PURPOSE: To facilitate effective and successful planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programme activities in assigned camps and rural/urban areas - in collaboration with the Project Coordinator. To conduct regular monitoring at assigned areas to alert all CP cases, to support children and community members in accessing services and receiving proper cases and follow up service providers. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.Scope Of Role:Reports to: Project Coordinator (CPiE)Staff reporting on this post: Community Facilitators(delete where it’s not applicable)Budget Responsibilities: No Financial ApprovalRole Dimensions: Regular Contact of basic factual informationKey Areas Of Accountability : Collaborate with community members to address child protection (CP) cases through referrals, considering community-based mechanisms. Support and follow up on case referrals in coordination with case management staff from other agencies. Receive, verify, and document information from the community related to CP concerns. Use the interagency database system to file all open and closed cases or develop a localized filing system in coordination with the database manager. Ensure all case forms are accurately completed, entered, and shared weekly/monthly with line manager and data focal point. Participate actively in weekly case management and team meetings. Train, coach, and support community members and outreach workers on Identifying and monitoring CP cases, Referral pathways and available service providers, Community mobilization and awareness. Assign, monitor, and evaluate tasks carried out by community members and outreach workers. Facilitate regular engagement with key stakeholders in assigned areas. Conduct regular data collection and monitoring visits related to outreach activities and assigned cases. Maintain accurate records of activities and report progress regularly. Support supervisor in developing monthly work plans, budgets, and reports. Compile and submit monthly and quarterly trend reports on identified and followed-up CP cases. Ensure that the program reaches the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children. Collaborate with CP staff and community members to deliver tailored MHPSS services to children and families, including Psychological First Aid (PFA), safe referrals, and promotion of child wellbeing. Assist in delivering and facilitating training for CP staff and community members on PFA, group PSS and resilience training. Coach and mentor camp-based and CP project staff in implementing mobile Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS) and disseminating key mental health messages. Support the preparation of reports on MHPSS activities, highlighting progress and challenges. Support technical implementation of CP activities and coordination with other agencies. Ensure the quality and effectiveness of all CP services provided. Attend relevant training courses as needed for CP Case Management activities. Ability to use a computer is preferable.Experience And SkillsEssential Desirable Demonstrated skills and experience in implementing child rights programming. At least 2 years in implementing and working with children. Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles. Ability to undertake case analysis, to document and submit case reports capturing key issues needed to inform programming for urgent response. High motivation to work with difficult circumstances. A commitment to children’s rights, children’s participation and non-discrimination. Experiences in establishing networking and coordinating and strengthening referral mechanism. Understanding of case management and referral pathways at a community, interagency and institutional level. Experiences in community mobilization. Previous experience working for an NGO or other non-profit organization. Strong analytical skills and organization skills, ability to work independently and productively in a fast-paced environment and the ability to manage a multi-facetted workload. Solid communication skills and attention to detail.
