The BTC will be a core and connected part of our business, bringing together colleagues who report into their respective part of C&P, working together with other functions across bp. IMPORTANT- Please upload your resume in English**As a Retail Project Controller, you will lead all aspects of project expenditure related to financial compliance. You will also handle a significant portfolio of thousands of projects, liaises with Fixed Assets to set-up projects and requisitions. As part of your role, you will put controls in place and monitor that the invoices have been approved by the appropriate DOA (Delegation of Authority). This role also provides weekly reporting on project actual expenditures to date, commitments to date, collecting the latest estimates for cost to complete, and reporting variances to project budgets. The Retail Project Controller supports the team in the areas of portfolio and project forecasting, management and closeout across mobility and convenience Americas. You will primarily work with Finance on forecasting, planning, and accruals, making sure all invoices have been coded to the appropriate cost centre (or site), and have been accurately characterized as Capex, Revex, or Opex.The Retail Project Controller works with different teams to continuously refine ways of working and products that deliver improved management of cost and change orders - with a cost management focus, to achieve planned value and agreed scope and scale to allow the business to deliver high returns and acquire greater market value.Key AccountabilitiesChair meetings for monthly Project and portfolio level forecastingProject and portfolio level and compliance ReportingChair meetings to capture data for monthly accrualsAccrual calculation and submission to FinanceEnsure that data in Smartsheet (forecasting) and Power BI alignBuild and analyze accrual files used for monthly accrual discussionsResolve data and project discrepancies between SAP and SmartsheetAnalyze actual expenditures and commitments on projects to dateEnsure PAF (Project Authorization form)’s, requisitions and invoices are approved by appropriate DOAProblem resolution in all aspects of project cost administration (PRs, POs, invoices, vendors, fixed assets accounting, Capex vs Revex determination, project close out etc.)Upload monthly actuals into SmartsheetWork with BP finance as requiredProject controls continuous improvement and metrics developmentMiscellaneous, business critical and special projects as requiredAttend project meetings as requiredFlexibility & accountability based on work requirementsJob Requirements And Essential CriteriaBachelor's degree – Preference for Finance or AccountingMinimum of 8 years of relevant business experience within Retail & Procurement, Finance.Experienced in managing a large portfolio of construction projectsExcellent presentation and communication skillsKeen understanding of GIAAP accounting practicesStrong skills in SAP, Excel, Power BI and SmartsheetSkills & CompetenciesConsistently challenge to standardize and simplifyAbility to effectively prioritize in a fast paced, team environmentExpertise with Real Estate, Construction, Maintenance and Procurement practices and processes.Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of management.Good interpersonal and communication skillsVery analytical and excellent attention to detailProven track record of hands-on project controls and project administration experienceTrack record of implementing cost management approaches and philosophyWilling to get in the details with the team initially on project work before implementingYou will work with Procurement - contract negotiation and value deliveryFinance - financial reporting, platform support and payment processing, accrual calculations and submissionsAsset Management leaders - cross-functional portfolio delivery and ways of workingBusiness leadership - strategic project planning and delivery with an asset needVendors, General Contractors etc.FBTThis position will be located in our offices in Santa Fe, Mexico City.
