Project Controller VTTI Head Office RotterdamAbout the roleVTTI is developing an in house global ERP transformation, a strategic program reshaping how we manage our operations, finance, and performance across all business units.As Project Controller, you will take ownership of the financial governance and performance tracking of this key initiative. Working closely with the project team, Finance, IT, and senior leadership, you’ll provide financial insight and control mechanisms that ensure the project’s success from budgeting and forecasting to strategic decision support.This role offers exposure to senior management and the opportunity to drive financial transparency and control within a complex, multinational project environment.Your key responsibilities1. Financial Control & Project GovernanceDevelop and maintain detailed financial tracking models for project budgets, costs, and forecasts.Monitor actuals versus plan, analyse variances, and propose corrective actions.Partner with Finance and Project Managers to ensure robust financial reporting and audit readiness.Prepare cost-benefit analyses, business cases, and investment appraisals.Support in invoice validation, cost allocations, and financial reconciliations.2. Project Performance ManagementTrack project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies across workstreams.Create dashboards and KPIs to measure financial and operational progress.Identify risks and deviations and coordinate timely mitigation with stakeholders.3. Reporting & Stakeholder EngagementPrepare executive-level reports and presentations for senior leadership and project sponsors.Act as the financial point of contact within the ERP program, aligning finance and project teams.Support decision-making through data-driven insights and structured reporting.4. Risk & Change ManagementIdentify financial and operational risks within the project lifecycle.Track and quantify the financial impact of change requests and scope adjustments.Collaborate with project leads and finance teams to develop mitigation and contingency plans.What you bringA master’s degree in finance, Business Administration or a related field.Proven experience in project controlling, financial planning & analysis, or PMO support within ERP or transformation projects.Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills.Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Jira, or Power BI).Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across finance and non-finance teams.Familiarity with project methodologies (Agile,Scrum, Waterfall, PRINCE2, or PMP).Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to translate complex data into clear business insights.What We OfferA full-time position, within a fast-paced, international and diverse environment.Competitive compensation with mobility scheme (lease car or equivalent).27 vacation days and solid secondary benefits (ao. health insurance support).Opportunities for impact, growth, change (management), personal- & professional development.Application ProcessWe kindly ask you to apply through the LinkedIn Apply Button.Acquisition as a result of this vacancy and/or responses from recruitment agencies are not appreciated.
