LEDARS (Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society) is looking for Project CoordinatorJob Description / ResponsibilityJob Location: LEDARS head office, Munshigonj, Shyamnagar, Satkhira.Job context:LEDARS (Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society), an NGO registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau, has been working in the climate-vulnerable southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1996. The region faces severe challenges due to the adverse impacts of climate change, affecting the lives and livelihoods of local communities. LEDARS has been implementing numerous programs in this region. As part of its continued mission to climate resilience and community development, LEDARS is going to implement a project at Sundarbans Landscape Zone at Shyamnagar Upazila in Satkhira district entitled “RESCUE (Resilient Ecosystems & Sustainable Communities to Uphold the Sundarbans Environment) funded by GIZ. To lead and manage this project, LEDARS is going to appoint “Project Co-ordinator”. This is a senior-level leadership position responsible for overseeing overall project implementation, strategic coordination, team management, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the project’s impact and sustainability.Job Requirements:Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the effective design, implementation, and oversight of program activities in line with organizational goals and donor requirements.Lead, supervise, and mentor project teams across multiple districts, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and results-based management.Responsible to execution of program and oversights program implementation ensuring donor and government rules and compliance.Facilitate internal capacity building by identifying staff development needs and supporting training, coaching, and performance management.Foster strong partnerships with local government institutions, development partners, civil society, media, and community-based organizations for smooth operation of the program and ensure sustainability.Ensure rigorous implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems to assess program performance, capture learning, and support adaptive management.Monitor budget utilization and ensure adherence to financial controls, procurement standards, and cost-effectiveness in resource use.Prepare and submit high-quality progress reports, donor updates, success stories, and other communications products in a timely and professional manner.Promote and enforce LEDARS’s policies on safeguarding, child protection, gender equity, and social inclusion throughout all levels of program implementation.Represent LEDARS in relevant coordination bodies, thematic networks, and advocacy forums at district and national levels.Support program visibility and public engagement by producing regular communication content (e.g., case studies, social media posts, website updates) and maintaining relationships with local and national media outlets.Coordinate with the donor and provide updates on recent developments at the project site as required.Educational RequirementsMaster of Science (MSc) in ForestryMaster’s degree in Master of Science (MS) in Forestry from a recognized University.Experience RequirementsAt least 5 year(s)The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):NGOAdditional RequirementsMinimum 5 years of working experience in the development sector, with at least 3 years in a senior-level program management or leadership role.Demonstrated expertise in biodiversity conservation, forestry, or natural resource management (experience in the Sundarbans region will be an advantage).Ability to work independently and travel frequently to remote project areas.Proven experience in managing multi-donor projects, ensuring donor compliance, leading diverse teams, and coordinating with multi-stakeholder platforms.Experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems and participatory development methodologies.Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills in English, including strong report writing and presentation skills.Familiarity with national development frameworks and experience working with local government and civil society organizations.Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.Strong leadership and team-building abilities with demonstrated success in managing high-performing teams.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, internet applications, and basic graphic design tools.Sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and gender-responsive programming.Knowledge of digital communication platforms and the ability to manage social media content and website updates.Willingness and ability to travel extensively to remote field locations (minimum 50% of working time).Candidates with valid motorcycle driving license will get special priority.Commitment to LEDARS’s values, including gender equity, social inclusion, and safeguarding.CV must have at least 3 references including the last organization.Job LocationSatkhira (Shyamnagar)SalaryTk. 70000 (Monthly)
