Job Description

The Project Coordinator supports the project team in planning, organizing, and executing construction projects from start to finish. This role ensures that project documentation, schedules, materials, and communication flow smoothly between field operations, the project management team, clients, and vendors. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.RequirementsAssist the Project Manager and Construction Manager in the coordination and tracking of project deliverables, schedules, and budgetsPrepare, review, and distribute project documents including RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and meeting minutesMaintain up-to-date project files and logs (drawings, specifications, correspondence, permits, etc.) both digitally and physicallySupport procurement by obtaining quotes, tracking material orders, and ensuring timely delivery to siteCoordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve logistical or administrative issuesTrack daily reports, equipment usage, and time entries from field crews to ensure accuracy and completenessSupport job cost reporting and assist with invoice verification, coding, and payment trackingAssist in preparing progress reports, safety documentation, and quality control recordsSchedule and attend project meetings, record minutes, and follow up on outstanding action itemsEnsure all work complies with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulationsWORKING CONDITIONHome base in Edmonton, Calgary, or WinnipegThe majority of time will be spent on project sites throughout North America on a rotational schedule (for example 18/10 or 28/14)When not supporting active projects, the position will be office basedPaid accommodations, per diem, vehicle, and flights are provided while working on siteEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer or (related field02-4 years of experience in a construction or project administration role preferredStrong understanding of construction processes, terminology, and documentationProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, or similar)BenefitsWe offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.About Our BusinessValard Construction is Canada's premier utility contractor providing comprehensive EPC+ (engineering, procurement, construction) and maintenance services to utilities, independent power producers, mining, oil and gas industries and rural electric associations.
