Job Description

Job PurposeTo monitor, analyze, control, and report project costs to ensure the project is delivered within the approved budget while supporting decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.Job Responsibilities1) Cost Tracking & MonitoringMaintain and update the project budget, commitments, and actual costs.Track expenditures across Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Installation, and Commissioning.Ensure correct cost coding and allocation based on the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).Verify and validate vendor and subcontractor invoices before approval.2) Forecasting & Variance AnalysisPrepare monthly cost forecasts and Estimate at Completion (EAC).Identify variances between budget, planned cost, and actual cost.Investigate reasons for deviations and propose corrective actions.Update cost-to-complete (CTC) based on project progress.3) ReportingPrepare monthly cost reports (MCR) for management and client (if required).Develop cash flow reports, cost trends, and dashboards.Highlight cost risks, deviations, and opportunities during review meetings.4) Change & Risk ManagementSupport assessment of cost impact arising from: scope changes, engineering revisions, procurement delays, subcontractor claims, schedule impactsAssist Contract Team with variation order (VO) preparation and justification.5) Coordinate & InterfaceLiaise with Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Finance teams.Ensure alignment between schedule progress and cost reporting.Support project close-out including final cost reporting and reconciliation.Job RequirementsDegree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.5-7 years of relevant experience in cost control for EPC/EPCIC/O&G projects.Familiar with cost control systems, basic contract terms, and procurement processes.Proficiency in Excel (pivot, lookup, formulas), ERP tools.Strong analytical and numerical skills.Good communication and coordination skills.Detail-oriented with strong documentation discipline.Ability to work under pressure and meet monthly reporting deadlines.Understanding of project controls methodology (WBS, cost coding, progress measurement).Office-based with periodic visits to fabrication yards, vendor workshops, or offshore sites.Extended work hours during reporting cycles or peak project phases.
