About the OrganisationThis shipyard is dedicated to crafting the ultimate outdoor experience on luxury superyachts. The Exterior discipline focuses on the complete design and technical realization of all exterior elements; from railings and deck furniture to sliding doors, pools, and jacuzzis. Every detail is engineered with precision and creativity.Developing these bespoke solutions requires a deep understanding of materials, production methods, installation techniques, usability, cost efficiency, and manufacturability. The goal: turning ambitious design concepts into technically flawless and elegant exterior features that elevate the yacht’s overall experience.The RoleAs a Project Engineer – Exterior, you will be involved in the full engineering process of a superyacht’s exterior; from the initial design phase to final technical coordination. You will translate innovative concepts into feasible, high-quality technical solutions, ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and production efficiency.Collaboration is key: you will work closely with colleagues from Interior, Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural departments. Since every yacht is one of a kind, each project presents new challenges and opportunities to innovate.Your Day-to-DayYour morning begins with a short meeting with your project team. Perhaps the client has requested design changes like a different type of sunroof, for example. You’ll assess the technical implications, consult with the design studio and suppliers, and determine how this affects the overall engineering scope.After lunch, you’ll refine a 3D concept model with an Exterior Engineer and verify feasibility with suppliers. You’ll also coordinate with other engineering disciplines, since exterior modifications can impact interior layout, systems, and structure. Later in the day, you’ll meet with the Exterior Manager to present possible solutions, evaluate their impact, and implement approved changes into updated technical drawings.Each day brings progress toward an innovative, tailor-made exterior design; one that will soon come to life on a world-class superyacht.What Makes This Role UniqueYou help design and engineer features never built before.You work in close collaboration with designers, suppliers, and technical specialists.You take ownership of your own engineering scope and guide a team of engineers.You have freedom, responsibility, and influence within complex, high-end projects.You work in a supportive environment that values craftsmanship, respect, and work-life balance.What You BringBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical field.At least five years of experience in a similar engineering position.Strong knowledge of production and engineering processes in yacht or shipbuilding.Excellent communication skills in both English.Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-driven attitude.Team player who enjoys collaboration and upholds high standards of quality.Our OfferWe offer a full-time position (40 hours per week) within an informal yet highly professional organisation.
