Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesProvide client-side design input throughout all project phases – from Basis of Design through to Commissioning, Qualification, and Handover.Support vendor management activities, including equipment design reviews, technical assessments, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at vendor sites (EU and USA).Collaborate with internal engineering leads and A&E partners to ensure technical compliance and timely delivery of process and utility systems.Participate in design and model reviews, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.Oversee and review engineering documentation, including URS, SDS, and equipment specifications.Interface with Automation, C&Q, and Validation teams to support integration and start-up of process systems.Provide input on scheduling, cost discussions, and risk management as part of the integrated project delivery approach.Maintain a strong onsite presence during critical project stages, particularly during construction, commissioning, and qualification activities.Required Experience & Qualifications3+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical facility design, build, commissioning, or start-up.Proven experience managing equipment vendors and reviewing technical design documentation.Strong understanding of process or utility systems used in pharmaceutical manufacturing.Experience supporting FAT/SAT activities and working with international vendors (EU/US).Excellent communication and coordination skills within cross-functional teams.Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.Nice to HaveExperience with formulation and component preparation systems (e.g., autoclaves, parts washers, formulation tanks, filter integrity testing).Prior experience with major pharmaceutical capital projects or fill-finish facilities.Background from engineering design consultancies or project management firms supporting pharma/biotech projects.
