And so much more.   Come break through with us. Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Role PurposePosition will be responsible for leading engineering and operations teams working with product development, division engineering and manufacturing to execute projects for Capacity Expansion, New Product Introduction and Cost Reduction needs based on OCS Division priorities. The initial focus for this specific position is to support HSDC New Product Introduction and capacity expansion.Key ResponsibilitiesDefines and executes a project plan, including financial and resource planning that enables the project to scale appropriately in each stage to meet project objectives and remain within budget. Drives the project's progress, reconfirming the project's value proposition, and recommending scope changes of the project to leadership, as appropriateLead and work with project team members to track and solve process yield issues and develop basic understanding of process requirementsEnsures technical work is organized and executed on time, to acceptable safety and quality standardsHandles the information flow related to project direction, issues, needs, and progress with key project constituencies including business leadership, internal customers, and team membersUtilizes best practices in project management to organize and execute project activities, including leveraging Performance Excellence tools and Critical Chain project management as appropriateReport on project activities on a pre-determined basis. Ensure results meet the customer’s requirements and standards.Individual must be capable of executing project assignments with minimal supervision.Experiences/Education - RequiredB.S. in a technical field (Engineering or Physical Sciences).Experience in optics and any advanced degree (MBA, Masters) a plus.5 years’ experience with Project Management / Leadership in leading internal or external teams3 years or more of experience leading projects implemented in a manufacturing environmentExperience leading cross functional teams (engineering, technical, operations) in planning and execution of projects, risk management, problem solving and execution of strategyExperience communicating project updates across multiple organizational levelsAbility to develop strong relationships with manufacturing, technology and Product Line Management StakeholdersAble to make sound decisions by blending analytical thinking with practical judgmentExperience with a New Product and Process Development ProcessExperience creating project plans, launching new projects effectively and managing budgets and timelinesEffective, high quality oral and written communication skills with EnglishCustomer oriented; meets customer needs with quality resultsAbility to build effective working relationships with othersAbility to manage multiple priorities tasksAbility to contribute to the development of othersResponsible for the accuracy of work performed; takes a proactive approach to ensure quality of work.Self-starter who is able to satisfy their objectives and timelines with a minimal amount of supervision.Ability to work in a team-based environment and participate on a matrix project team.Results oriented with a high commitment levelProactive, independent, flexible, quick learnerExperiences/Education - DesiredFamiliar with industrial safety standardBasic understanding of PLC programming, LEAN and TPM would be a plus6 sigma skill or project management.Good commanding on automation equipment design and process equipment integrationExcellent computer skills (working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office)We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.
