This role also supports negotiations, collaborates with clients, and helps lead the development and mentorship of Junior Estimators and Take-Off Technicians.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze plans, soils reports, specs, and project bid requirementsMeasure quantities and prepare accurate takeoffsEnter projects into bid records and maintain bid logMaintain proficiency in takeoff software, including updates and improvementsTrain and develop Junior EstimatorsSupport Take-Off Technicians with direction and quality reviewsPromote teamwork, professionalism, and high moraleComply with federal, state, and local regulationsAdhere to Elite's Mission Statement, values, and code of conductDocument lessons learned and share with the teamMaintain a clean, organized work area and plan rackUpdate and improve procedures related to estimating dutiesReport and correct unsafe conditionsRecommend process improvementsPromote Elite within the industry and identify new market opportunitiesObtain competitive material pricingSolicit subcontractors for the lowest responsive bidsAuthoritiesFull decision-making authority within the responsibilities of this roleSet authority levels for direct reports (within your scope)Accept or reject bids based on the President's recommendationContact prospects for additional information needed for bidsQualificationsStrong time-management and organizational skillsAbility to communicate clearly with individuals at varying technical levelsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent documentation and record-keeping abilitiesCreativity, initiative, and strong analytical skillsStrong verbal communication and presentation skillsSales and negotiation experienceProficient with MS Excel, Word, and digital toolsComputer takeoff skills required: Civil Image, AGTEK, Carlson, or similarBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, Architecture, Project Management, Operations Management, or Construction Management preferred (experience may substitute for degree)Pay & BenefitsFull-time, Exempt, W2 position.Competitive pay at $120,000 to $150,000 based on experience Health, dental, and vision (employer covers employee at 100% for base health and dental plans (Kaiser and United Healthcare)Paid time off (1 week to start)Holidays (7 days)$25k Life insurance plan covered by employer at 100%.401(k) program (no matching)Performance-based recognition and advancement opportunities.Why Join Elite Earthworks & Engineering?Elite is a place where your expertise matters, your contributions are valued, and your growth is supported.
