The Project Financial Analyst has for objective to track and report on the profitability of projects. This role involves collaboration with project teams, clients and internal departments to ensure the financial performance and high quality of clinical research project management services.This role will be perfect for you if:You have a solid understanding of complex enterprise processes and wish to help shape a growing finance and accounting department.Working with internal and external stakeholders comes easily to you.You want to learn all about the life science industry and clinical trials operations RESPONSABILITIESMore specifically, the Project Financial Analyst must:Project and budget set-upReview and understand the client agreements and convert them into the Indero internal cost structureCreate and configure projects in the project management and financial systemsPrepare and upload the project budget and related amendments impacting scope and/or timeline in the project management toolParticipate in the identification and the price assessment of the out-of-scope services.Revenue / Expenses recognition and project reconciliationAs per month end schedule:Ensure revenue and expenses are recognized based on Canadian GAAP and contractual requirements (including creation of journal entries for accruals and project allocation)Review actual project revenues and costs compared to budget and forecast, identifying variances and their causesPrepare and present detailed project financial reports, including but not limited to; profit and loss statement, financial projections (ETC and accrual report), invoicing status for internal and external stakeholdersMonitor and ensure accuracy of projects balance sheet accountsMaintain accurate and organized financial records of project dataInvoice managementReview project invoicing and provide expertise as neededAt the end of the study, ensure all invoices were produced and paidAct as the main point of contact for clients on any questions related to the invoicingCollaboration with project teamWork closely with project managers to understand project requirements and financial implicationsProvide financial guidance and support to project teams, helping them manage budgets and control costsFacilitate regular financial review meetings with project managers and clients to discuss budget status, invoicing and other financial itemsInternal presentations and special projectsProduce consolidated projects reports and presentations for the management (including, but not limited to; backlog analysis, efficiency, ETC, revenue composition)Support internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentationIdentify opportunities for process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracyContribute to the development and implementation of improved financial processes and toolsEmployee may be assigned to other responsibilities that do not pertain to their former description, if they have the required experience, are qualified and/or have received adequate training.IDEAL PROFILEEducationBachelor’s degree in accounting of related fieldCPA certification, an assetExperienceminimum of 4 years of experience in project accountingKnowledge and skillsExcellent knowledge of spoken and written EnglishProfessional judgment and proven interpersonal skillsExcellent analytical skills with attention to detailCritical thinking and proactive problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesProficiency with financial management tools and office software (Excel, Power BI, ERP)Comfortable working in an environment in constant evolution
