Join Our Team!The opportunityWe are seeking a Project HSE Specialist to join our HSE Team in Vaasa, Finland.

In this position, you will support and coordinate our Finnish projects in the Nordic cluster with focus on HSE tasks within the HSE department and throughout the project’s life cycle. You will ensure that the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance are documented, monitored, and maintained. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement in all areas of HSE. This role offers the possibility to work onsite (especially during onboarding) as well as from the office.

How You’ll Make An ImpactCoordinate all projects in Finland from an HSE perspectiveImplement and work with continuous improvement of Hitachi Energy management system and local requirements in Finland for the operating unit of the Nordic cluster. Review customer HSE requirements and demonstrate how Hitachi Energy will manage HSE through the project lifecyclePrepare and update HSE documentation in accordance with the internal process.

Submit preliminary HSE plans to the customer in accordance with tender submission datesAttend clarification meetings and workshops with the customer (both in person and remotely)Prepare Project HSE Plans as well as other HSE-related documentation such as the Emergency Preparedness and Response PlanEnsure activities under the scope of Hitachi Energy are following legal and contractual HSE requirements as well as internal HSE requirementsProduce reports for Project Reviews, both internal and Customer, and attend Project Review meetings to ensure the Hitachi Energy HSE Operating System remains suitable, adequate, and effectiveReview HSE documentation from all Hitachi Energy subcontractors and support subcontractors to meet internal and Project HSE requirementsMaintain awareness of developments and legislation affecting assigned functionsYour backgroundBachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or equivalentPrevious experience with HSE planning and execution in projectsStrong organizational and communication skillsExperience drafting HSE documentationProfessional HSE certification is an advantageKnowledge of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 certificationsCustomer oriented experience and mindsetSelf-driven and persistent attitude towards challenges.
