We work with communities to understand their needs and work with our Skilled Business Volunteers to match them to projects, that bring the right skills at the right time to help deliver outcomes.About The OpportunityPrimary Purpose of the PositionThe Cann Valley district currently does not have a childcare program or a kindergarten, and community members need to travel far to access these services, putting additional strain on families. The Cann River P-12 College School Council has been working with the Department of Education (DET) to be able to provide kindergarten services on the school site with the School Council being the registered provider.This assignment seeks to gather the understanding needed to establish free childcare facilities locally, using the facilities and resources available at Cann River P-12 College.Use your expertise to deliver meaningful change for a resilient rural community.The Tasks And Deliverables Of This Assignment Are Desk-based research to understand the regulatory and legislative requirements of the childcare and early education sector and convey the information in a comprehensive and practical way to the Council. Facilitate discussions with the Council to arrive at an implementation plan that is tailored to the context. Provide a report or documentation that the Council can use as a tool or reference to progress establishment of the facilities.Selection Criteria A thorough understanding of the childcare and early education sector (preferably Victoria-based) from a regulatory, legislative and compliance perspective as well as business operations.
