Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Project Manager for a 2.5 year contract on a rate of up to £550/ Day Outside IR35. This role will be hybrid based.Responsibilities:- Overall management of the project development schedule. Plan the project with the suppliers & project team.- Assist in the supplier procurement and onboarding process – leading where required- Ensure the supplier’s Statements of Work (SoWs) for the various project stages are reviewed, agreed, and signed off efficiently by the right people- Manage the relationship with the supplier, including financial profiling and monitoring, and the day-to-day project financials and contract management.- Agree and set up the project governance and controls. Ensure essential project phase-level processes and documents are in place, including, but not limited to setting up a Project Board, developing a project plan, PID, RAID log, Benefits plan and tracker, RACI matrix, Communication and Change plans, Highlight and Finance Project Board reports.- Identify and map dependencies, assumptions, and potential issues- Ensure quality reviews occur on schedule and according to an agreed procedure.- Manage the change control procedure and ensure that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are efficiently signed off.- Contract administration: Reviewing deliverables, ensuring compliance with agreed timelines and milestones, and managing all contractual documentation.- Management of all project activities on a daily basis implementing deliverables to expected quality, time, and budget- Collaboration with all project participants in the development, ownership and tracking of project plans- Ensuring the required IT expertise and resources (internal and external) are in place to deliver an optimum solution- Deliver an effective Communications Plan which ensures all stakeholders and interested parties are aware of project objectives, impacts, deliverables etc including regular status reporting. This should include a formal monthly highlight report for the Project Board as well as shorter weekly progress reports.- Schedule and convene regular project team, stakeholder and project board meetings- Ensure all project related activities are adequately documented- Identify and establish communication links with other concurrent projects and manage the risks that any interdependencies may pose- Provide overall project budget monitoring.- Ensure that the solution architecture is aligned to IT standards- Create strong relationships with the key business areas to understand the relevant drivers and strategic direction in relation to the project- Developing and managing the Change strategy and plan, including training and communication workstreams- Be aware of and manage the project through any future updated assessment process if it is rolled out within the project timescales.Essential Skills:- Project Management experience of relevant scale, scope & systems- Demonstrating experience in managing suppliers/contracts- Experience of procurement & vendor selection- Experience of transitioning from old to new EPoS and ticketing systems including cutover and into continuous improvement/support/BAU.- Proven experience in managing substantial budgets and sizable project teams.- Demonstrating a history of successfully delivering projects with a value over £1m through the complete project lifecycle.- Ability to hit the ground running, a self-starter.- Excellent written and oral communication skills- Prince 2 and Agile project management qualifications & experience, along with experience of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)- Technical knowledge and familiarity with industry-specific technologies- Experience of working with, managing and developing ticketing systems- Experience of working with, managing & developing retail systems- Experience of managing the creating and implementation of multiple system integrations- Stakeholder management & the ability to challenge stakeholder plans and assumptions- Decision making and influencing- Excellent approach to problem solving- Familiarity with current accessibility and usability standards and guidelines.- Experience and knowledge of Project planning and Agile management tools, such as MS Project, and JIRA.- Ability to take on responsibility and use initiative to prioritise and work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.- Demonstrates leadership and facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives.- Demonstrating experience in effective change management on large scale system implementations, including training and stakeholder/communication plans and strategy.Desirable Skills:- Experience of similar projects involving commercial systems replacement & multi-site implementation.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
