SHEBA MANAB KALLYAN KENDRA-SMKK is looking for Project Officer - Gender and Social InclusionJob Description / ResponsibilityProject: Strengthening Civic Engagement and Gender Equality in Climate-Vulnerable Communities. NAGARIKATA: SCEGE-CVC projectGrade: SMKKBase Location: Dhaka with field visits to Barguna and PatuakhaliReports To: Project CoordinatorsAccountable To: Executive Director of the respective organizationContract Duration: 1 years (with possibility of extension)Position Rational:The Project Officer - Gender and Social Inclusion will play a pivotal role to ensuring that all project activities are inclusive and actively promote gender equality. This position involves conducting gender and social inclusion analyses to identify the needs of women, youth, and marginalized groups, and integrating these insights into project planning and implementation. The officer will develop strategies and provide training for project staff and beneficiaries, advocating for policies that support gender equality and social inclusion. This role is crucial for ensuring that the project benefits all segments of the community, especially the most vulnerable.The position holder will have expertise in Gender and Inclusion as well as GBV program especially with vulnerable women and EVI with a human rights approach.She/He will be planning and implementation the project interventions following SMKK’s policies and standards in consultation with the management as well as donor requirement.Prepare activity plan and budget to execute the intervention in accordance with detailed annual activity plan of the project consideration the project's logframe and setting deadlines for timely implementation with quality, ensuring the activities planned.Developed gender responsive plan and facilitate to implement the intervention for capacity building of project participants, staffs and other concern stakeholders.He/she will assist to Project Coordinator in program planning, Proposal development and implementation.Provide technical support and capacity building of the staff through facilitating training and module development under the guidance of Project Coordinator and other senior management.Undertake regular field visits to follow up on the implementation of programme activities and support project team to ensure project delivery within allotted budget and timelines.Contribute towards programme planning, ensuring alignment with the project’s programme policies and guidance; as well as SMKK policies and guidance;Participate in training, workshops/seminar as invited and ensure that all new knowledge and skills acquired through training are shared with other project staff and applied.Working with project team members to deliver the expected outcomes and outputs with quality and quantity in a timely manner, implementing a set/cluster of activities;Conduct in-depth gender and social inclusion (GSI) assessments and context analyses in target areas.Identify structural barriers and social norms that limit the participation of marginalized groups.Ensure GSI considerations are integrated into the project’s Theory of Change, logframe, activities, and indicators.Develop and implement a Gender and Social Inclusion Action Plan aligned with the project goals.Support to project team in formation and strengthening of inclusive community groups, youth forums, and women-led platforms and others activities related to women and ensure to promote gender equality, inclusion and participation throughout all activities.Support to mobilize community participation in project activities, ensuring inclusivity, particularly for women, youth and marginalized groupsParticipate in project coordination meetings, technical working groups, and forums representing GSI perspectives.Liaise with national and local gender focal points, inclusion advocates, and networks to stay updated on relevant policies, guidelines, and innovations.Ensure safeguarding, Do No Harm, and intersectional approaches are upheld throughout implementation.Ensuring the participation of GoB and other relevant committee(s) within the project areas that could contribute to bring effective results at project level.Coordination and networking with the concern stakeholders as well as project team and nurture excellent relationships,Developed regularly document case studies, success stories, and best practices related to gender and inclusion.Contribute to periodic donor reports, including gender-responsive narratives and disaggregated data analysis.Support to Organization in proposal development and GBV frame work.Assist to prepare funding proposals and briefing documents for donors, organize donor briefings for resource mobilization.Support to management team of SMKK as required or as per office directives, particularly in project planning, policy development and organization development.Educational RequirementsMastersBachelor/HonorsBachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Social ScienceMaster of Social Science (MSS) in Social ScienceBachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Development StudiesMaster of Social Science (MSS) in Development StudiesBachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Gender studiesMaster of Science (MSc) in Gender studiesExperience RequirementsAt least 5 year(s)The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):NGOAdditional RequirementsStrong understanding of gender equality, women`s rights, youth engagement, and social inclusion frameworks.Proven experience in conducting gender analyses, social mapping, and intersectional needs assessments.Skilled in participatory methodologies and community-based approaches.Strong facilitation, training and communication skillsAbility to analyze data, write analytical reports, and develop practical tools and materials.Professional experience in national and international development NGOs for at least 5 years in similar positions (particularly in Development sector).Good understanding of theory of change, logical frameworks and indicator setting.Ability to work in a team and adopt a team approach which adds value to work and reinforces good working practices.Familiarity with gender policies and frameworks.Understanding of local cultural dynamics affecting gender issues.Commitment to promoting gender equality and social justice.Willingness to travel to project sites for fieldwork.Reporting and Authority:The position holder is directly reportable to Project Coordinator and functionally accountable to the head of the organization (Executive Director).She/he is responsible to effective communication and coordination with the donor (if needed), concern stakeholders, partner organizations, concern government officials and local elites for the betterment of the organization and successful implementation of the project.Job LocationBarguna, Dhaka, Patuakhali
