Join us as Project Officer - Roads and play a key role in shaping the future of Council's roadworks program while ensuring the maintenance, sustainability, and safety of our road networks.In this role, you will play a pivotal part in Council’s road maintenance program by overseeing pre-construction activities, developing and updating the road maintenance schedule, and providing expert technical support across a diverse range of road construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects. You’ll be responsible for managing surveillance of roadworks, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, and reporting on project outcomes to the Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about road infrastructure who enjoys working in a collaborative and solutions-oriented environment.As the Project Officer Roads, your role will involve detailed planning, including the development of essential management plans such as Traffic Management, Quality Management, Environmental Management, and Work Health & Safety Management Plans. You will be responsible for ensuring all roadworks meet legislative, safety, and environmental requirements while conducting site inspections and audits to monitor the quality of work. Your expertise will be critical in identifying maintenance tasks, developing inspection schedules, and providing technical guidance to contractors, internal teams, and stakeholders. You’ll also help manage the project lifecycle by preparing Site-Specific Safety Management Plans and working with supervisors to implement vegetation management plans where necessary.A key part of this role is community and stakeholder engagement. You will liaise with contractors, Transport for NSW, and other government departments to ensure project milestones are met and to address any concerns from local residents or businesses. Effective communication is vital, as you will also be responsible for presenting technical information in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
