Department: Student Experience / Careers & Global MobilityLocation: De Montfort University CambodiaReports to: Senior ManagementRole PurposeThe Project Officer plays a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of university projects and initiatives including student engagement activities, global mobility trips, careers and internship programmes, and special events.This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, process-driven, and thrives in a dynamic, student-focused environment. The Project Officer will ensure that activities are delivered efficiently, on time, and to a high standard, while maintaining strong communication and collaboration across departments.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & DeliverySupport the end-to-end coordination of key university projects such as student events, global trips, careers and internship initiatives.Develop detailed action plans, timelines, and task lists to ensure smooth project execution.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including academic teams, student services, corporate partners, and travel providers.Monitor project progress, flag issues proactively, and help find practical solutions.Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and project records.Student Engagement & SupportAssist in organising and running student activities, competitions, and workshops that enhance the overall student experience.Work directly with students to ensure participation, engagement, and positive feedback.Act as a friendly, approachable point of contact for student enquiries related to events, internships, and trips.Administration & OperationsProvide high-quality administrative support, including scheduling, correspondence, and budget tracking.Manage logistics for trips, events, and projects (e.g., booking venues, coordinating travel, preparing materials).Support compliance processes (risk assessments, approvals, reporting).Contribute to the development and improvement of internal systems and processes.Team CollaborationWork collaboratively across departments to support cross-functional university projects.Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving student engagement and operational efficiency.Support the wider university team during busy periods, demonstrating flexibility and a can-do attitude.Person SpecificationEssentialBachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.Exceptional organisational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail.Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.A proactive self-starter who shows initiative and problem-solving ability.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and staff.A “common-sense” approach and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Competent in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems.Positive, energetic, and enjoys being part of a busy, student-focused environment.DesirableExperience in event coordination, project management, or student engagement.Experience working in a higher education or youth-focused environment.Familiarity with international travel coordination or global mobility programmes.Strong administrative or operational background.AttributesProcess-driven, reliable, and professional.Enjoys being kept busy and working to deadlines.A natural team player who brings enthusiasm and positivity.Eager to learn, adaptable, and committed to excellence in execution.How to ApplyInterested candidates should send a CV and cover letter outlining relevant experience to jobs@dmuc.edu.kh
