Our client, a leading mining and processing organisation operating one of West Africa’s flagship capital expansion programmes, is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join their EPCM Team. This role plays a critical part in driving schedule performance, coordinating multidisciplinary contractors, and ensuring successful delivery of large-scale SMPP, mining, and process plant projects in a remote environment.This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned planning professional looking to contribute to a high-impact project while benefiting from a stable FIFO rotation and a competitive expatriate package.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and control Level 1–4 schedules using Primavera P6.Integrate SMPP, Civil, Electrical & Instrumentation contractor schedules into a unified Master Project Schedule.Drive progress measurement, earned value tracking, S-curves, and critical-path analysis.Coordinate planning activities with construction, engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams.Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for senior leadership and client stakeholders.Support shutdown/outage planning and ensure effective sequencing of construction and commissioning works.Facilitate schedule risk reviews, forecasting, and mitigation actions.Engage daily with multidisciplinary teams to validate progress and ensure accurate reporting.Provide planning support to site leadership in a remote and high-activity environment.Required Experience & Qualifications8–15 years’ experience in project planning, including strong exposure to mining, SMPP, power, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects.Proven expatriate or remote-site experience (Africa preferred).Expert proficiency in Primavera P6; MS Projects advantageous.Strong understanding of structural steel, mechanical equipment installation, piping systems, and platework (SMPP).Experience coordinating multiple contractors on large capital projects.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and construction interfaces.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across multicultural teams.Relevant technical qualification (Engineering, Project Controls, Construction Management, or equivalent).
