Job Description

Purpose of the Role : To lead and manage procurement activities for all hospital construction, expansion and renovation projects across the organization. This includes sourcing, tendering, vendor management, cost optimization and ensuring timely delivery of project materials and equipment in line with quality standards, budgets, and timelines.Key Responsibilities:1. Project Procurement PlanningCollaborate with project, engineering and operations teams to understand procurement requirements for hospital construction, medical equipment, and facility infrastructure.Develop and implement project-specific procurement strategies aligned with corporate policies.Prepare procurement schedules in coordination with project timelines.2. Tendering and Vendor ManagementFloat tenders, evaluate bids, and conduct techno-commercial negotiations for civil, MEP, HVAC, medical gas systems, interior works, and medical/non-medical equipment.Identify, prequalify, and onboard reliable vendors, contractors, and suppliers for project-related categories.Maintain an updated vendor database with performance metrics.3. Cost and Contract ManagementEnsure procurement within approved budgets and project cost parameters.Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and service agreements in line with legal and compliance norms.Support contract administration and coordinate with legal and finance teams for documentation.4. Quality and ComplianceEnsure materials and equipment meet hospital standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NABH, biomedical standards).Implement best practices in sustainable procurement and ethical sourcing.5. Coordination and ExecutionWork closely with project management, finance, and site teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.Resolve procurement-related issues, delays, or vendor performance concerns.Monitor inventory and logistics for large project consignments.6. Reporting and MISPrepare regular reports on procurement status, cost savings, vendor performance and risk assessment.Present procurement dashboards and updates to senior management and project steering committees.Education: B.E./B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering; MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Materials Management preferred.Experience: 8–15 years of experience in project procurement, preferably in hospital, healthcare, real estate, or infrastructure sectors.Technical Skills: Knowledge of EPC contracts, project BOQs, SAP/ERP systems, and project procurement workflows.Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and coordination skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
