Project QA/QC Manager - Western Cape and De Aar in Sutherland

Project QA/QC Manager REPORTING TO: Contracts Manager (Direct) / Platform Quality Manager (Functional) FUNCTIONAL ROLE; To assume the responsibility of the management, coordination and implementation of the quality management system for the project. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (N.Dip/B.Tech) or related technical discipline.  Internal auditing ISO 9001 Certificate.  Valid driver's licence. EXPERIENCE:  Minimum 8-10 years site construction QA/QC experience (Civil). KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:  Sound knowledge of Civil construction standards.  Analytical & methodical approach to problem solving.  Excellent communication skills (Verbal/Written) including preparing/compiling detailed technical reports.  Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Tools. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  Compile/Review inspection & test plans, quality control plans (QCPs) and related inspection / testing records.  Compile Work Package QA/QC Datapacks for each section of work.  Compile reports on project quality (system/workmanship) compliance.  The Management, issue and control of design packages, drawings and as-built records.  Management of the project NCR system; Interface with Clientele and Project Management concerning project quality related defects and remedial actions.  Management & coordination of Quality Control team members (QC/QC Inspectors / Document Controllers).  Conducting quality evaluations/audit of project subcontractors & suppliers.  Assessment of critical materials delivered to site.  Interface/Coordination with Laboratory services concerning site testing requirements.  Internal auditing of the site QMS in terms of ISO 9001.Desired Skills and ExperienceWe are seeking a quality-driven professional with a strong background in electrical engineering and site-based QA/QC to join our dynamic team as a Project QA/QC Manager. This role involves delivering high-impact infrastructure projects, including wind farms and substations.Key Responsibilities include:- Implementing and managing the Quality Management System (QMS) on site- Developing and reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Control Plans (QCPs)- Managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), audits, and QA/QC documentation- Overseeing QA/QC teams and coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and clients- Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and relevant electrical network standards- Interfacing with laboratory services for testing and quality verification- Supporting pre-commissioning and handover documentationMinimum Requirements:- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (N.Dip/B.Tech or related)- 5-7 years of site-based QA/QC experience in construction- ISO 9001 Internal Auditing Certificate- Experience with wind farm projects and electrical scope is highly advantageous- Strong knowledge of electrical network standards and civil construction QA/QC practices- Excellent communication and reporting skills
