Job DescriptionJob Summary:The Project Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment on project sites. This role involves conducting safety inspections, training employees in safety practices, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Training: Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure awareness of safety protocols.Inspections and Audits: Perform regular safety inspections and audits of project sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.Assist Safety Managers with incident investigations.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.Safety Equipment Management: Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and regulatory compliance activities.Safety Meetings: Participate in and/or lead safety meetings and provide updates on safety performance and initiatives.Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in safety practices and processes.Communication: Serve as a point of contact for safety-related inquiries and issues on project sites.Desired Skills & QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.Experience: Previous experience in a safety coordinator or similar role, preferably in the construction or industrial sector.BCSP Certification (Preferred)Safety Trained Supervisor – Construction “STS-C” (Required)OSHA 510 (Required)Knowledge: Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Safety Management Software and tools.Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, such as standing, walking, picking up and carrying materials, climbing ladders, and to work in various weather conditions.Bi-lingual in Spanish (Preferred)NFPA 70E and LOTO (Preferred)Working ConditionsThis position may require travel to various project sites.Must be able to work in a construction or industrial environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and other hazardous conditions.
