Prompt Engineer

Purpose:The Prompt Engineer plays a key role in designing and developing AI solutions that align with stakeholder objectives. This involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including clients, developers, and product managers. In addition, they support teams across the firm by developing tailored training that enhance productivity and integrate seamlessly into a team’s day-to-day operations.Key Responsibilities:Prompt engineering solution design and development for bespoke AI productsCollaborating closely with clients, developers, designers and product managers to deliver AI products that meet business needsWorking closely with teams firmwide to understand business needs and design prompts for productivity gainsLeading initiatives to enhance and optimise prompt engineering skills firmwide, as well as providing guidance and supportCollaborating with the AI technical team to enhance and test new features and modelsAdherence to KPMG’s Trusted AI requirements and considerationsAdvocating for and implementing prompt engineering best practicesDesigning and iterating agentic workflowsCollaborate with engineers and product team to integrate agentic workflows seamlessly into production systemsMentoring and coaching junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and cross-skilling within the teamSkills:Good to have:You are adaptable, resourceful and learn quickly – you also have excellent critical thinking skills, people think you’re smart, and you’re a creative problem solver and resilientYou have 2+ years’ experience using large language models or agentic workflows and applying prompt engineering techniques to solve problems (in business or academically)You lead and facilitate issue resolution with confidence and competenceDemonstrated experience translating unstructured business needs into clear, documented requirements that were used to develop promptsYou excel making sense of and ordering fragmented and unstructured informationYou passionately acquire new knowledge, actively seeking a deeper understanding of material and taking initiative to fully grasp intricaciesExperience using tools to test ideas and chain logic, for example LangChain, Prompt Flow or Flowise is a plus!
