This full-time, on-site role will oversee day-to-day accounting functions for a diverse real estate portfolio. The Property Accountant will manage financial records, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure the accuracy of monthly and annual financial statements. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with accounting standards, supporting financial reporting, and collaborating across departments to drive operational and financial excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain general ledgers and prepare journal entries for multiple propertiesReconcile bank accounts, tenant ledgers, and balance sheet accountsPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisMonitor cash flow, payables, receivables, and property-level expensesEnsure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policiesCollaborate with property management and asset management teams to support operational goalsPrepare and assist with external audits and tax documentationQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate or property managementStrong proficiency in Yardi Voyager and QuickBooks preferredSolid understanding of GAAP, journal entries, and month-end close processesStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software toolsCompensation & BenefitsSalary: Starting at $70,000+, commensurate with experienceComprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision)Paid time off (PTO) and company-observed holidays401(k) plan with 3% employer matchingWhy NEXENJoin a company where entrepreneurial spirit meets precision.
