RoleThe Public Defence Service (PDS) is looking for a motivated and experienced criminal litigator to take up the role of Intermediate Lawyer at our busy Manukau office. Reporting to a Legal Team Manager you will:

deliver high quality defence representation to legally aided clientsmanage a varied caseload of criminal mattersbe confident leading on a broad range of jury trial workprovide support to senior lawyersassist in the coaching and mentoring of junior lawyers. ? P?kenga/Skills And ExperienceTo be successful you must be passionate about criminal justice issues and:

have an approved PAL 2 or 3 approval level and be qualified to practice law in New Zealandhave confidence in your ability to develop credibility with judges, peers and others in the legal communityenjoy sharing legal expertise, exchanging ideas and brainstorminghave empathy and the ability to relate to a wide range of people.
