Sigmar are partnered with a leading Irish institution dedicated to promoting excellence in scholarship and research, who are hiring a Communications and Engagement Manager for maternity leave contract (11 months)You will work in a collaborative environment with experienced professionals playing a key role in building the profile of the organization and promoting its work to key stakeholders and the wider public.About Your New JobMonitor and report: Track the organization’s media presence and provide quarterly reports on media communications and social media activities.Content management: Schedule and curate content for the organization’s social media channels using the social media calendar and Agorapulse to maximize reach and engagement.Newsletter production: Manage the production of monthly newsletters and other promotional materials using Mailchimp and Canva.Event management: Curate, organize, and deliver the organization’s Discourse programme, including evening events and budget management.Award management: Oversee the organization’s annual Gold Medal awards from assessment through to the award ceremony, ensuring budget adherence.Support fundraising activities: Assist with the organization’s endowment, donations, and Corporate Friends activities.Internal communications: Manage monthly communication meetings and provide advice and support for organization-wide activities, including preparing a monthly newsletter and supplying content for internal communications channels.Additional duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Senior Communications and Public Affairs Manager and Head of Programmes and Engagement.What Skills You NeedEducational background: A third-level degree or equivalent qualification in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Social Media, Journalism, or other relevant areas.Experience: A minimum of three years’ relevant experience.Relationship building: Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.Teamwork: Experience working in cross-functional teams.Communication skills: Strong writing, editing, proofing, and oral communication skills.Digital skills: Strong IT and digital marketing skills with knowledge of the latest social media trends.Organizational skills: Strong organizational, project, event, and time management skills.Project management: Ability to manage and deliver on a suite of projects from inception to completion.Personal attributes: Resourceful, enthusiastic, quick-thinking, and able to perform well under pressure.Desirable QualificationsA postgraduate degree in a relevant area.Previous experience in a similar role.Working knowledge of the Irish language.
