The Purchasing Coordinator will manage all transactional processes and documentation for Direct Material Procurement and Claims in a timely manner.
This role is essential to ensure the adequate supply of materials to the Factory and to establish and maintain effective relationships with Vendors, achieving high levels of Supplier Service. The Purchasing Coordinator will contribute to the implementation of Material Sourcing initiatives, ensuring efficient operations and product availability. . A day in the lifeReporting to the Factory Supply Chain Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to: Execute procurement processes supported by Purchase Orders generated from Purchase Requisitions, raised against approved Vendors at agreed prices (as per Contracts). Ensure that Suppliers deliver materials and services as required to meet production needs.
Maintain the accuracy of procurement-related transactional data to support decision-making and reporting. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that agreed service levels are met consistently. Manage day-to-day claims with Suppliers and escalate critical issues to Buyers to prevent Parked & Blocked Invoices from impeding material supply. Monitor and report on supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. Participate in the implementation of Material Sourcing initiatives (Simplex / TDC / Material BIA) to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness. Support the development and maintenance of procurement documentation and processes to ensure compliance and best practices.
What Will Make You SuccessfulMinimum 3 or more years of experience in a similar roleExperience in a Planning, Purchasing, or Customer Services role within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector. Strong understanding of the Material Life Cycle and its impact on procurement processes. Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems, with SAP experience highly regarded. Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with Suppliers and internal stakeholders.
