About the company:Our client is a well-established manufacturing business with operations across New Zealand. They partner with both local and offshore suppliers and are known for their collaborative, down-to-earth culture where people take ownership and work together to get things done.About the role:Based onsite in Highbrook, this hands-on role sits within the operations team and focuses on managing inventory across two sites, purchasing materials from local and international suppliers, and coordinating inbound logistics through shipping lines, ports and freight forwarders.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a thorough understanding of logistics who’s ready to take the next step into a broader supply chain role with exposure to inventory control, purchasing and planning. You’ll continue to use your logistics expertise every day while developing your skills across the full supply chain.Key responsibilities:Manage inventory levels across two sites, ensuring materials are available for productionRaise and manage purchase orders with both local and offshore suppliersCoordinate inbound freight, liaising directly with shipping lines, ports and freight forwardersTrack lead times, shipment schedules and delivery performanceCollaborate with production, procurement and operations teams to align supply and demandMaintain accurate inventory and purchasing data in internal systemsProactively identify and implement process improvements across purchasing and logisticsAbout you:Strong understanding and hands-on experience in logistics (freight, port or shipping coordination)Looking to broaden your experience into inventory control, purchasing and planningConfident and proactive communicator who builds strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partnersHighly organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing multiple prioritiesStrong Excel skills for data management and reporting (Power BI experience a plus)Team-oriented, adaptable and comfortable working onsite five days a weekNZ resident or Citizen who is happy to be onsite 5 days a week (flexible start & finish times)What’s in it for you?Join a respected manufacturing business where you’ll use your logistics knowledge daily while gaining exposure across the wider supply chain.
