The Role Of Purchasing Manager We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Purchasing Manager to join our team as we embark on an inspiring transformation. This journey will culminate in the opening of Four Seasons Resort Al Zorah, a world-class destination set to debut in late 2026 and redefine luxury hospitality standards in the region. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom Department to ensure that all departments of the hotel have adequate supplies. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping abreast of new and alternative products in the market to enhance cost-effectiveness and quality standards and to ensure that we maintain the highest level of integrity and transparency in dealing with business partners. Responsibilities will include talent leadership and development, ensuring all local and corporate policies, internal controls, and safeguards are complied with, ensuring proper authorization has been obtained for all hotel-specific purchasing contracts and conduct, managing and completing competitive bids, ensuring management agreements and all other purchasing agreement terms and conditions are fulfilled, quarterly reviews, annual forecasts and budgets, conducting quality control audits, monitoring costs, coordinating all month-end, quarterly and annual inventories and supporting the hotel’s Safety Committee and Green initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead all procurement functions, ensuring that purchasing, receiving, and storeroom operations meet the highest company and audit standards. Develop and implement sourcing strategies that enhance cost efficiency without compromising quality or brand standards. Identify and build relationships with reputable suppliers and vendors, ensuring fairness, transparency, and ethical business practices in every transaction. Oversee all purchasing documentation, contracts, and authorizations to ensure full compliance with corporate policies and internal control procedures. Conduct market research to identify new materials, products, and suppliers that align with sustainability goals and operational needs. Manage the competitive bidding process to secure optimal pricing and terms for all goods and services. Work closely with the Culinary, Engineering, and Rooms divisions to forecast purchasing needs aligned with seasonal demands, menus, and operational plans. Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, as well as monthly and quarterly cost analysis reports. Oversee all inventory processes, including month-end, quarterly, and annual counts, in collaboration with the Finance team. Provide strong leadership to the Purchasing team, promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous development. Ensure health, safety, and environmental practices are maintained throughout all purchasing and storage activities. Our Ideal Candidate Must have:Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Purchasing within a luxury hotel or resort. Proven success in leading a Purchasing function during a pre-opening or rebranding phase is highly desirable. Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience in cost control, vendor negotiations, and contract management. Deep understanding of internal controls, compliance frameworks, and audit standards. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments. A proactive mindset with strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in procurement and inventory management systems (e.g., BirchStreet, Prolific, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office. Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration preferred. A natural leader who demonstrates humility, integrity, and emotional intelligence in managing relationships and teams.
