As a certified member of the Responsible Jewellery Council and part of the Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030, we continue to push boundaries in design while keeping sustainability at the core of what we do.We are now seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our team as we continue our growth.About the roleAs our Purchasing Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient production at Tom Wood. You will be responsible for securing production capacity through optimized forecasts and scheduling, managing bulk orders, and overseeing cost control and financial accuracy throughout the procurement process.You will also handle sustainability documentation, stay updated on material prices, and build strong collaboration with suppliers to ensure optimal performance across the supply chain.The role requires effective communication across departments, operation of purchasing and forecasting systems, and active contribution to sustainability initiatives. You will also support the finance department through data analysis and reporting, helping to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.The role is a part of our Finance department and reports to the CFO.Key responsibilitiesSecure production capacity for each purchasing window by optimizing forecasts and ensuring efficient and timely production schedulingPlace and manage bulk orders with suppliers for both packaging and jewelry productsOversee cost control, purchase order alignment, and ensure financial accuracy in procurementManage and oversee documentation related to sustainability and CoCStay updated on current material prices at all times for optimized cost effectivenessConduct continuous follow-up with suppliers to ensure seamless collaboration and optimal performance throughout the supply chainEnsure effective communication across departments to maintain an optimized supply chain flowOperate purchasing and forecasting systems, ensuring accurate predictions and inventory optimization in collaboration with other departmentsContribute actively to Tom Wood’s responsibility goals by staying updated on sustainability developments and driving initiatives within procurementPerform various data analysis and reporting for the finance departmentWho we are looking forMinimum 2 years of experience in procurement, sales, supply chain management, or financeStrong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and sound decisionsHigh proficiency in Excel, with experience working with large datasets, ERP systems, and/or forecasting toolsProven ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring reliability, quality, and collaborationStructured, organized, and proactive, with meticulous attention to detail and strong follow-throughStrong problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset, able to navigate challenges independently and cross-functionallyExcellent communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantageKnowledge of sustainability and responsible sourcing is a plusA collaborative team player with curiosity, accountability, and a drive for continuous improvementWhat we offerA key role in a globally recognized, design-driven company with ambitious growth plansA collaborative environment where ideas are valued and expertise is sharedInspiring workspace in the Grünerløkka district of Oslo, NorwayCompetitive pension, health, and travel insurance packagesSubsidized lunch, employee discount on Tom Wood products, and regular social eventsApplication deadline: November 9th.We will review applications and invite candidates for interviews on an ongoing basis.
