We’re seeking someone to join our Analytics & Data tech team as a Python Software Engineer - AI Platforms in Wealth Management Technology.In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Python Software Engineer position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.What You'll Do In The RoleDesign and build distributed, scalable, and reliable AI platforms and use casesIntegrate with other platforms and data sources through designing and implementing APIsCollaborate with other teams to design and develop data tools that support both operations and product use cases.Prototype and showcase AI use cases - Be able to complete PoCs and smaller engagements on their ownPerform analysis of data, logs, architecture requirements to support building of the platform and toolsEvaluate technologies, participate in PoC and prototyping solutions to improve our capabilitiesWork with vector databases to build performant RAG solutionWhat You'll Bring To The Role6+ years of hands-on programming Python (or Java with python at least) – ideally as backend/full stack engineerExperience designing and implementing large, distributed platformsKnowledge of various components of public and private cloud ecosystems and experience in applying them to practical problemsExperience in data manipulation, pipelining and MPP systems and conceptsStrong object-oriented design and analysis skillsExcellent technical and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStable knowledge of base concepts and methods around LLMs (RAG, Prompting, etc)At least personal hands-on experience with LLMsAbility to drive ideas to end results by collaborating and involving the people needed to reach consensusNice To HaveBackground or hands on experience in Machine learning and/or Data scienceExperience with UI and frontend frameworksKnowledge of Private Banking & Wealth Management domainHands-on experience and working knowledge with either of the technologies: OpenAI, Scale, Snowflake, Spark, Kore, Node.jsHands-on experience with building LLM based solution#BPTECHWhat You Can Expect From Morgan StanleyWe are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
