QA Engineer (contract)

British Caribbean Insurance Company Limited (BCIC) is the #1 General Insurer in Jamaica.  We foster a learning environment in which our people thrive, performance excels, and business grows.  We know that the right employees are the key to our success, so we are looking for a QA Engineer to join our team for 6 months to help us achieve our vision.Employment type – Contract (6 months)Work mode: Hybrid (Kingston, Jamaica)PurposeSafeguard product quality by driving risk-based testing and automation so every release is reliable, compliant, and customer-ready.ResponsibilitiesDefine risk-based test strategies, plans, coverage and entry/exit criteria; align with Agile delivery.Lead functional, regression, integration, end-to-end and UAT; ensure critical customer and business journeys are protected.Architect and maintain automation frameworks; integrate them into CI/CD pipelines; and champion  ashift-left and continuous quality mindset.Validate P&C domain flows (Policy Center, Billing Center, Claim Center), including rating, endorsements, renewals, claims and batch jobs.Test APIs and microservices; run performance/load tests; support security checks and compliance needs.Manage test data and environments; oversee defect lifecycle; publish meaningful quality metrics and risks.Coach engineers and influence QA practice across squads.RequirementsUniversity degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field; ISTQB Advanced Certification is a plus.5 or more years in QA/testing with ownership of strategy and automation for complex, integrated releases.Experience in general insurance or regulated financial services; audit-ready evidence and traceability.Hands-on with Selenium/WebDriver, JUnit/TestNG or Tosca; experience working with Jira/Azure DevOps How to applyPlease submit your application via email to careers@bcicjamaica.com, with the subject line “QA Engineer” no later than Friday, October 31, 2025We appreciate your decision to apply; however, we will only contact those who are selected for an interview.  Thank you for your interest in joining Team BCIC.
