QA Lead - Device Engineering

As a QA Lead, you will manage a team focused on the integration and quality assurance of Android-based client applications, payment APIs, and hardware accessories related to Clover POS devices within a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.What you will do:Design and develop the Black Box QA and automation strategy for the Android OS and applications that run on Clover Point of Sale devices.Focus on region-specific customizations and hardware integrations for POS devices.Be accountable for the overall quality of periodic application and OS software updates.Communicate testing progress by creating and maintaining test plans.Provide stakeholders with clear, real-time updates regarding test status, bug status, and overall quality.Monitor failures, report bugs, and analyze/triage automated tests running in the Continuous Integration system.Find bugs and validate specifications through black box testing techniques (e.g., test matrices, combination testing, risk analysis) and gray box testing techniques (e.g., database querying, source code analysis).Work on testing Clover-specific HALs and drivers not supported by stock Android.Adapt and execute test plans for Clover hardware specifically tailored for the Japanese market, including language, localization, and regional compliance testing. What you will need to have:7+ years of demonstrated ability in a Software QA role.2+ years of experience testing Japanese payment technologies.Experience with Android tools such as ADB, Android SDK, or other Android application testing tools.Ability to build test plans, define testing strategies, and identify high-risk areas.Knowledge of testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or equivalent.Experience in black-box and automated testing on Android platforms and applications (AOSP or equivalent).Experience with UI Automator or other Android test automation frameworks.Scripting experience (Python, shell scripting).Experience with Continuous Integration processes and tools (GitHub, Jira, Jenkins) or other integration processes and tools.High-level understanding of payment cryptography.Knowledge of testing Android hardware devices is a plus.
