Airswift is looking for a QA/QC Engineer – Wells to work in a contractor position (12 months, with strong possibility of extension) in Mexico City for a major offshore oil and gas project.This role is critical to ensuring the quality, integrity, and compliance of well construction activities. The QA/QC Engineer will lead the development and enforcement of service quality plans, oversee audits and inspections, and manage contractor performance across drilling, completion, and intervention operations. The position supports safe and efficient well delivery by embedding QA/QC and HSES principles throughout the planning and execution phases.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain service quality plans for all drilling and completion service providers.Review and approve vendor quality plans, ITPs, and QA/QC procedures.Lead audits, inspections, and verification of contractor equipment and services.Coordinate third-party inspection (TPI) companies to validate compliance.Monitor contractor performance metrics and lead corrective action implementation.Track equipment certifications, pressure tests, and factory acceptance results.Participate in rig readiness reviews, equipment inspections, and pre-spud evaluations.Ensure QA/QC integration across drilling, completion, and intervention activities.Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and mitigate quality risks.Maintain QA/QC documentation including audit reports, NCRs, and lessons learned.Support Management of Change (MoC) processes for QA/QC deviations.Facilitate training and knowledge sharing on QA/QC standards and best practices.Provide QA/QC input for procurement and tender evaluations.Continuously improve QA/QC processes through innovation and industry benchmarking.Contribute to the development of departmental procedures and capabilities.Job QualificationsB.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.QA/QC certifications (ISO, API, or equivalent) preferred.Minimum 10 years of QA/QC experience in drilling and completion operations.Experience with IOCs or QA/QC firms supporting offshore drilling projects.Familiarity with Mexican offshore regulations and international HSES standards.Technical & Non-technical SkillsStrong knowledge of QA/QC standards and inspection techniques.Experience with contractor management and third-party inspections.Understanding of drilling, completion, fluids, and cementing operations.Proficiency in QA/QC software and reporting tools.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.Proactive and resilient in dynamic project environments.LANGUAGESProficient in English (written & spoken).Spanish proficiency is an advantage.About AirswiftAirswift serves as a strategic partner to our clients in STEM industries.
