Job Title: QAQC ManagerLocation: Los Angeles Metropolitan Area; Pasadena, CAMorillo Construction, Inc. is a full-service general building and general engineering contractor located in Pasadena, California. Our emphasis is on public works construction in Southern California, where we are providing a growing list of expertise to our public and private sector clients. We have a dedicated staff that is experienced with the special requirements of green building.We are seeking a QAQC Manager, whose primary role will be to plan, develop, direct, supervise, implement, and personally perform project quality control activities in compliance with applicable laws, standards, regulations, and procedures.What we are offering: Health Benefits including medical, vision, & dental plans401K Vacation and sick time policyResponsibilities: Manage, supervise, and administer the implementation of the project-specific QA/QC Plan and QA/QC staff in coordination with project safety planManage the development and implementation of the project-specific QA/QC Plan in coordination with the project team, the owner/architect team and the contract documentsAssure that sufficient, qualified specialized staff is assigned to provide the required knowledge and experience to execute the planPerform continuous inspection on one or more projects; identify, report, and resolve minor issues; ensure approved materials are received and correctly incorporated in the project; identify non-compliant work and take appropriate action to bring work back into compliance;Review plans to verify locations, grades and depth of utilities, etc.; coordinate testing of materials when necessary; general knowledge of California Building Code.Ensure all changes and/or modifications are noted on the final plans, including photographic documentation when required.Document and maintain thorough, accurate and informative daily, weekly, monthly, and final reports; maintain dialogue, coordinate and communicate with other departments & agencies, both internal and externalMaintain a collaborative working relationship with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and vendors to ensure that the project-specific QA/QC Plan delivers a fully compliant projectDevelop any necessary engineering procedures, including document control, submissions management, creation and tracking of RFIs, material samples, documentation and tracking of potential cost changes, documentation and tracking of approved change orders within budgetary requirementsContinually improve strategies and tools to efficiently and effectively document, track and record compliance with the contract documents to enhance the quality of project deliverablesConduct testing and inspections and arrange for third-party testing and inspections, and analyze and report the resultsDirect removal and replacement of, and document all potential non-compliant materials and/or workmanship and document compliance after corrective work is completed prior to starting any subsequent workThoroughly reviews plans and specifications and reports any discrepancies to supervisor.Qualifications (REQUIRED):Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five years' experience or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience and construction experience that bridges both field and engineering responsibilities.Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes1 year of experience in the supervision or inspection of engineering construction workAbility to read and interpret complex construction blueprintsExperience in web-based program management software, i.e. Procore, NewForma, Primavera4 years additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above, may be substituted for the required educationThe employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundIn addition, candidates MUST MEET AT LEAST ONE of the following:--> Engineer or Architect currently licensed in the State of California--> DSA Inspector Class 1 of Class 2 with a current California State Certifications--> International Code Council (ICC)/ Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD)/ California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) Inspector with a current California State Certification.--> Construction Contractor or superintendent (or similar position/function) with a minimum of 10 years of documentable training and field experience on building construction projects including school projects or hospitals under the jurisdiction of DSA, OSHPD/HCAI.Qualifications (PREFERRED): May require QA/QC certification depending on specific projectKnowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel CodesKnowledge of the National Board Inspection CodeSalary Range: $110,000 - $120,000NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
